As the legendary Inferno tells the journey of Dante through Hell, this new digital art series will be inspired by the philosopher's vanquished adventure through the writings and characters from The Inferno. The events in each chapter of the narrative focuses on Dante’s fictional character of himself who is traveling through the farthest reaches of hell. The Inferno takes the form of an allegory, a story whose literal plot deals with a second level of meaning about humanity and how we understand it. With this in mind, each scene from the poem will be reinterpreted and encouraged through a collection of illustrations. The concept for “The Violent Against Neighbors,” began with the idea of creating a visual journey driven by this murky, fictional book about mankind and music that inspired it. In the near future, the rest of the illustrations in this series will be announced shortly through this blog and will be available for print.
