ARTWORK PROCESS FOR SERVICE
My prices vary for a quote since every project is different based on the mediums with which a client wants me to approach a project. For an estimate, I consider the budget for the release, deadline, and artwork specifications including how the artwork will be used. Please be as detail oriented as possible so I can properly assess the amount of work that will entail the project to be able to give an accurate quote:
What Is Required For An Estimate
Deadline- When, do you need the artwork by?
Calculate at least 3 weeks upon receipt of half payment. This will include at least one revision depending on the artwork specifications. Please note that if you need the artwork sooner you may be forfeiting any revision options due to time constraints. Additional fees will be charged for extra revisions and for revisions reflecting a new direction to the project if not due to any fault on the part of Illustrator.
Copyright – How will the artwork be used?
I typically grant copyrights to publish the illustration in a particular medium or more for the purpose specified. Please note that copyrights, not expressly granted in the agreement invoice or estimate are retained by the illustrator. Any additional use to that not expressly granted in the estimate agreement requires arrangement for payment of a separate fee or permission. After the artwork is published, the artwork may be used for my own self-promotion purposes such as art portfolios and online competitions.
Artwork- Define your market, and message for your service?
No modifications, changes or alterations may be made to the artwork or any part thereof, directly or indirectly, without artist consent. The illustrator shall deliver high-resolution digital files upon receipt of full payment.
I require 50% up front before I will start conceptualizing. I consider any ideas and concepts you may have including keywords, album titles, music, lyrics, target market & any other influences for the creative process. A preliminary sketch will be sent during this time to make sure the concept is moving forward in the right direction. After approval, I will continue to think about what I’ll need to create the finished artwork. I capture images, textures, & illustrate other mediums I prepare to paint with to start the actual design and this is when I allow ideas to develop. I get more feedback by providing any revisions during this process.
Revisions-SG Imagery defines a round of revisions by the feedback given after the client agrees to move forward from the preliminary sketch and a nearly completed design is presented. Once a design draft is presented, the client has a specified number of days to provide their feedback. Once all of their comments, ideas and questions are consolidated and we provide a new version, that's the end of that round of revision. After all allotted revision rounds I finish up the design & deliver high-resolution digital files expressed in the agreement upon receipt of full payment.
Pricing & ethical guidelines are based on the Graphic artists guild. The Guild is committed to improving conditions for all artists and raising standards for the entire industry.
